Absentee Bidding

Bid remotely on any lot in our monthly auctions

If you cannot attend an auction in person, our free absentee bidding service lets you compete for lots from anywhere. Simply tell us your maximum bid and we will bid on your behalf.

How It Works

  1. Browse the catalogue – Full catalogues are available online ahead of each sale. Identify the lot numbers you are interested in.
  2. Set your maximum bid – Decide the highest hammer price you are willing to pay for each lot. The auctioneer will bid only as much as necessary to secure the item, up to your limit.
  3. Submit your bid in time – Contact us with your absentee bid no less than one hour before the auction. Late submissions cannot be accepted.
  4. We bid for you – By placing an absentee bid you authorise the auctioneer to bid on your behalf during the sale.

Buyer's Premium

A buyer's premium of 20% of the hammer price plus VAT applies to all successful absentee bids, as with in-room bidding.

To leave an absentee bid, please fill in the bidding form and contact us before the deadline. The service is free of charge.

Important Notes

  • Absentee bids must be received no less than one hour before the auction start time.
  • The auctioneer will endeavour to secure each lot at the lowest possible price, not exceeding your stated maximum.
  • In the event of identical maximum bids, the earliest bid received takes priority.
  • Successful bidders will be contacted after the sale to arrange payment and collection.
  • All sales are subject to our standard terms and conditions.
